Did Putin seize European territory, or did Europe increase military spending? Biden ran in opposition to Trump's rhetoric about NATO, and then he told Putin that America would not act if Russia only invaded part of Ukraine, which he proceeded to do. Which is scarier, having more of European defense come at the expense of European social spending instead of American social spending, or having an America who says to leave it to them and then waits to follow Europe's lead when Putin prepares to invade? American taxpayers would be thrilled if Europe finally left the nest and became a fully-fledged partner in protecting global trade and national sovereignty from rogue nations.
