  1. Europe should stop mandating intermittent green energy that requires Russian natural gas as a backup and support the development of clean and economical small modular nuclear reactors. There is no point in having electric cars if they are powered by backup generation like filthy lignite coal power as they often are in countries like Germany. Maybe one day battery technology will get to the point where wind and solar can be stored cheaply when they are abundant and used when needed but they also kill endangered birds, beach whales, and cause other environmental harms that nuclear does not. Small modular also does not require enriched uranium and cannot meltdown so it is neither a military nor an environmental hazard the way people think of nuclear tech from the 50s.
