  1. I've seen Americans angry with refugees from the state of Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, or angry with economic migration from California to their states. Race, religion, and culture need not be different for refugees to cause serious social upheaval. Having large groups of people enter a community en masse is traumatic for that community just by itself.
