  7. I'm 47 years old and have built a great career, make a comfy salary, and have a nice home that's easy to maintain. I consider myself a strong and independent woman. However, being independent doesn't mean "I dont need no man!!" That's a ridiculous and immature mindset. I have the utmost respect, admiration, and appreciation for my guy. I owe him so much of what we've built, and I would not be where I am if it weren't for him. It's about having mutual respect and a service-oriented partnership.

After 5 years of dating, he kept asking me what kind of "diamonds" I liked. I just let the relationship take its course, no pressure, no drama, and no ultimatums. I was, and still am, truly happy just being with him.
