I'm proud to be an American. I'm not even a trump supporter, but when it comes to my country there's no doubt that we have significant problems. What country doesn't? If you learned all there was about any country, you'd learn that its history hasn't always been a bed of roses. Did you know about the nearly 50 million people died of starvation under Chinese rule in the 1950s? The revolutions in France, China, Russia, Syria, etc.? Your hatred for the American way of life is evident. I'd go so far as to call it jealousy. You may not like it or the way we do things domestically or globally, but you nor anyone on these threads can argue that it is because of American strength and good will that has brought on world peace (not local) for the last 80 years.

@monkeyorchid4081 The minimum wage in China is $0.80 per hour. Millions have no unemployment insurance nor healthcare. Employers exploit migrant workers at every level. Millions are being laid off or put on monthly leave. Multi Billion dollar corporations are leaving. Shipping ports for exporting to the US are stacking up Shipping containers 7 stories high and needing to find more space for those being returned from ships that were on their way to the US. In the meantime there will be 12.2 million new college graduates this year with no idea if they'll get jobs. But hey, America only has thousands of warehouses that are full to the gills with soon to be sold goods from all over the world. We will be fine for at least 4 months. Can a country that relies heavily on manufacturing and exporting be fine when its not manufacturing nor exporting?

They are being placed "on leave" according to their government 🙄. How many industries are going under because of their government policies? What's the housing market look like? Shopping is nonexistent in that country, so they aren't "consuming" anything. So much for growing the domestic market. What other industries are going under? Retailers? Shipping? Exporters? Travel? What is the healthcare situation? Mortality and birth rates? There are so many things wrong, yet what does the government of China say? "Let them eat tree bark!" Are you surprised? Don't be. This is the type of leaders who let nearly 80 million people die of starvation in the 1950s. Yet, here they are going around the region hat in hand, asking for help from the same neighbors they've been bullying with water cannons, stealing water territories in the South China Sea, and military bases near India. Don't get me started about Taiwan. They steal military designs by cyber warfare (when did they design and test their stealth fighter the J-20 which looks just like the US F-22), and then mass produce military ships, planes, and now aircraft carriers. Yet, you call them the victims. You call them the "heroes."

This is the type of leaders who let nearly 60 million people die of starvation in the 1950s. Yet, here they are going around the region hat in hand, asking for help from the same neighbors they've been bullying with water cannons at Vietnam, stealing others water territories in the South China Sea, and building military bases near India. Don't get me started about Taiwan. They steal military designs by cyber warfare (when did they design and test their stealth fighter the J-20 that is an exact copy of the American F-22) and mass produce military ships, planes, and now aircraft carriers. They have been caught giving targeting information to the Houthis of American warships (do you understand what that means) yet you call them the ones who need respect? You haven't addressed the Nine Dash line in the South China Sea, why not?

How many Chinese factories have gone bankrupt in the last year? America has thousands of warehouses around the country full to the gills. It can easily sustain itself for the next 4 months. Can China keep stacking up ports for that long?

@hyc1266 Your comment is irrelevant and disingenuous. Population sizes don't determine a countries GDP. The state of California has a population of 40 million people, yet its GDP is larger than 85% of countries in the world COMBINED. My point to you is that all of these markets in the world use the high-end goods that are made for the US? How many of them have the infrastructure to use microwaves, EV's, upscale appliances, etc. America isn't just a place to send any and everything (toys, clothes, etc.), but it's built to handle any and all types of goods that many countries can't come close to. Yes, of course, the world has a huge market 🙄 the Chinese problem is that many of that market can't use what it is making on a national scale. Toys and clothes can't sustain the Chinese economy.

Since the world market is so huge and China has so many options to sell its goods to other then Americans, why are all of those people being "put on leave" and factories closing their doors? Why don't they just send all of those thousands of shipping containers to the world market 😒?

Damn, you think you know Americans? There are more universities in America then any other country in the world. There are tech schools, liberal arts, engineering, etc. that many countries send their kids to for a world-class education. What are you basing your comment on? What you see on TikTok?

@HereComesThePaine In America, a person earning $80,000 dollars a year is middle class. That person can buy over 50 acres of land in the mountains, near the ocean, the desert, or the frozen tundras of Alaska, regardless of race or ethnic makeup. They could buy a 40-foot RV and travel from coast to coast or Canada to Mexico on 6 lane interstate highways, or just take a train. What other country offers things like this on a consistent basis?

@tylerhackner9731 @logic738 I'm not going to resort to insults, just facts. The reason for higher prices on American made goods is because of the strong dollar and an artificially lowered Yuan. One of the first things China did in this trade war is to lower the purchasing power of the Yuan. A weak Yuan makes their products cheaper for export. Do you know what those same products cost in mainland China? They are more expensive. That's a reason the low wage ($.80 per hour) people don't consume things and why China can't turn to their domestic market to get out of this trade war. Right now, as we speak, many large and foreign companies are leaving China and being harassed by Chinese custom officers to slow their exit. When you really think about it, cheap goods dumped into a market will ultimately bankrupt local economies who can't compete with cheaper products. I think I'm woke enough to realize what's going on.

I know I'm asking you to put your freedom on the line, by asking you to leave those controlled areas, but the question is where are all of those 1.4 billion people at? Rumor has it that the COVID19 outbreak is still ongoing in those areas, and that's why the CCP doesn't want an investigation from the United Nations to look into that issue anymore. The Americans are extremely powerful and now it seems they've had enough with the BS of these small and large countries thinking they can continue pushing it around. America has soft and hard power. The world (except for the Houthis) are witnessing its soft power. Be careful.

@yuilin981 While you respond with insults, I'll stay with facts. As I've said in the past, America has farms that are larger than countries. We get food from all over the world, showcasing our consumerism. Immigrants want to come here more than any other country on earth. We currently have over 500,000 manufacturing jobs needing to be filled. Our country is second in manufacturing in the world, but we play by fair WTO rules. Why? Because it was America who developed the WTO. The WHO, IMF, NATO, the United Nations and Doctors Without Borders. America was charging countries 2% tariffs for decades, while they charged 10 or more. They asked for American warships and troops for protection (Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Kuwait, Philippines, etc.). America has dealt with high inflation, recessions, and loss of manufacturing jobs to foreign countries. It's still here. Now you look at China. 27,000 factories closed. Giant shipping ports overflowing with 40-foot containers stacked 7 stories high. Real estate prices collapsing. Unemployment soaring. That is a communist country that relies on the people being content. It's been 1 month. The CCP is asking them to hold on or "eat tree bark" for the next 3 years. Do you honestly believe they can?
