@bjbrooks6659 its that type of thinking that led to the January 6th insurrection. After all doesn't a government have to have some form of control over its citizens? We are after all an nation of laws.

maybe the 40 million people in the most populous State in the world with their 2 Senators should move to places with 2 million people (with their 2 Senators) and turn those places blue. Wouldn't THAT set your head on fire!

@bjbrooks6659 I'm not sure who you think "they" are. You're insinuating that this is some diabolical act or foriegn attack 🤔. Maybe (and I'm basing my own upbringing and logic here) maybe just maybe they ARE escaping an hopeless situation in which they're leaving. Maybe their parents are paying what they can to whoever they can to get their children out in the hopes of them finding a better life, because they've heard from other family members who are already here that that's the best think for them. This sound like something you would do? If I were in a similar situation and I had a 15 year old son who was a great recruit for gangs and cartels and militia I would do what I could to get him out as well. In the grand scheme of things, isn't that what every family does in time? Let their children go on the hopes that they will make it on their own? Our lifestyles and upbringing are extremely different from theirs, so it's only logical that you try and think like them. Put yourself in their shoes before you automatically make an assumption that there is some nefarious action being undertaken.

@bjbrooks6659 That is a warped lie buddy. You sound like a parrot repeating what you hear on TV or from the local Klan gathering. Why on earth would they be prosecuted for reporting to the authorities at the border and claiming asylum? They are brought to a "detention center" where that are processed and according to level of expertise and our governments knowledge of the current situation in the place they're arriving from they are given a status and a court date in front of an immigration judge (Trump got rid of many of them) and told to go live on an place where they can be found and report to the court on that date. It's not a perfect system but it's THE system. That's why we need immigration reform to help potential employers find workers for jobs (that Americans won't do) and oblige our commitments to human rights under the Geneva accords.

What you call "fake news" i call a tried and true means of staying up to date. Have you ever heard the term "fake news" before 4 years ago? THAT is fake. I believe what I can see and hear and smell and feel is more real then having people tell me what I'm seeing and hearing is fake.
