is it still a crisis? Didn't trump tell you not to fix it? Didn't you obey him?

The Constitution clearly states who is responsible for the border and immigration. The scotus agrees with President Biden. So does the US Senate.

@k.rum2850 I agree with the constitution. Biden never said we should suspend the constitution. Trump did. The Supreme Court agrees with President Biden. What legal argument does Abbott have other than "feelings?"

@k.rum2850 maybe you haven't heard this; Presidents have issued Executive Orders to deal with this issue in the past and was taken to court and lost. Presidents can't wave their pen and make this go away. That takes an act of the Congress. Last I heard, a bipartisan bill was passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives declined to even address it. Why? Because they with their 3 seat majority said they wanted even more done that only they support. Trump told them, "if you fix the border issue before the election, we will have destroyed our party." Why would he say that? Because it's the only thing the Republicans have to campaign on. They haven't done anything to help this country. Investigations Investigations Investigations. Nothing put into law. They need this issue to win votes and this "crisis" will have to wait until next January 🙄 IF Trump wins the white house. This is the reality of the situation regardless of what you've heard.

@dragas777 You're twisting the constitution to fit your narrative. Texas is barring border patrol (the federal government) from getting to where the migrants are crossing. They are physically preventing federal government officers from dying their jobs. They are not "stepping in" to help. They are escalating the situation. What you are really twisting is that if the federal government CAN'T do the job or is incapacitated in some way (i.e. the destruction of Washington DC) then the states can take over to help themselves. Question: Why do states declare "State of Emergency" and ask for Federal Government assistance, but the Federal government never asks for State assistance?

@Gweidemann straight out of "Mein Kampt"

@dragas777 Why can states declare a state of emergency and ask for federal money? Who is preventing federal officers from accessing the border? Who is preventing the Biden ADMINISTRATION from securing the border?
1
@dragas777 What is going on there isn't what it actually means. Texas isn't "stepping up" what they are doing is preventing federal officers from doing their jobs.

@paco7992 Oh really? I haven't "been told" anything that I can't deduce by myself. I can see with my own eyes and hear with my own ears. I see and hear trump tell his people in charge at the congress, and in State, local governments what he thinks about something that will help all Americans and whatever he says somehow gets done. If it doesn't benefit him in some way, he will speak against it, regardless of what it does to the country.
