  7.  @barbaranorman5881  maybe you haven't heard, but it's the FEDERAL Government that decides the dates and individual States voting day's. The Federal Government tells States the legal ages and Voting Rights for elections. It's the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT that provides States with funds to run their own elections. If they (individual States) fail to adhere to Federal guidelines then they lose funding not only to help with elections but possibly also in infrastructure spending, medical, education, etc. You getting the picture?

I just actually listened to some of these Republican Senators say how secure the last election was in their states where nearly all of them have a population of less then the major cities in this country (Washington DC and Puerto Rico have more people then many of them but they aren't States) but here we have State Legislators who are in the process of passing laws to change how we vote in this country. Why?

  11. these people represent mostly rural areas. Millions of Americans live in urban areas and they were the ones mostly targeted for having their vote suppressed in the last election. Let's make places like Puerto Rico and Washington DC into states since they both have more citizens then nearly all of the states these people represent.

It determines the participants on the ballots and provide money to states for election security. If a State doesn't want to adhere to what the Federal Government mandates they can opt out of Federal funding. Amen.

There are millions of more people in Blue States who pay the majority of taxes to the Federal Government. The fact that 45 or more red states have 2 US Senators each, gives the MINORITY of the people in this country the power to block or hinder progress in most of the urban areas of the country. That's why they're against making Washington DC and Puerto Rico States (4 more Senators) even though those places have more people then the majority of rural red states. You need to educate yourself about the politics of the country that would help you better understand the tax implications.
