  1. Great book! About to read it again...although I dont read well due to ME/CFS. I come from a mining town, and worked in the coal industry...they were grim places but for the neighbourly warmth of the neighbours. Their love was like a blazing fire roaring in the black of a cold wintry night. Strange...even the weather of those times has gone...they made for hardy people, although plenty perished in the countless mining disasters. Try Barnsley and the Oaks...almost 400...there has been some recent stories written on it...and a Sculpture made close to the NUM HQ. Aaaaahhh...themt wo daze
