Govt severed monies to councils...what are they supposed to do...the Tories and their mates have walked off with the money

@1gerard47 Looks good...yes, I remember that too...the images were startling...could be seeing that in the UK soon

Look as though other cities committed the equivalent fly tipping when they dropped off busloads of large nos of people from their own ghettos...

It's alright if you have hair!

Some what call that discriminatory...maybe they are hiding hideous features...or they are shy...besides...the Lone Ranger, he was a good guy and wore a mask...and Batman and Robin........and Zorro!
6
Lack of wealth, poor health-leading to a fragmented, paranoid, self-isolating society...and retail parks...I think the latter did great damage to town centres and pollution and car issues...
5
Thatcher started this...Blair just coerced with it...

Time for King Arthur...before it's too late!

It is isn't...that's the pt

@MrEdrftgyuji Thank s...you've just reminded me how truly idle today's society are...when young...all women had their own hardy bags that they used for shopping. Myself, from 10 yrs old, at weekends...and my grandma daily at 75 yrs old...walked over a mile to town...and back...laden with shopping. Never thought about it...just did it...and they were heavy bags...but then my grandma had been introduced to heavy work at 10 picking large rocks our of coal. I guess they just don't make em like that these days...even getting off the sofa is hard work...and the corner shop must be visited in the car. Say no more!

@colinlock-lv9vv Why suddenly it's hit me right between the eyes!

Well they went as we became de-industrialised...after which, the country's never been the same...on any level
2
@BraveNewUs Bread and drippin...that's what we were brought up on...you can do it
2
Which barbers was that? Or do they all have baths in the back?
2
Usually looking after themselves, although fair to say...their hands are oft tied behind back due to govt cuts...
2
Neither would he dream to come over here...foreigners used to come for the great shops we had...but since that grocer er took charge...all we have are barbers...although what goes on inside them is anyone's business...then again if folk like short hair...maybe a weekly cut is the way to go...we'll have towns full of barbers...we'll end up calling the city centres...barber centres...

@simontrigg9059 The Miner's Strike was the beginning of the end for this nation...no way back now...the money and wealth have been stolen...one vulnerable group after the other losing out...to sponsor the super rich...who are usually parked up in Monaco, Isle of Man, Florida...or the Cayman Isles...so they don't care...never did, otherwise they would not have fleeced the country and the working classes and disabled...

Too many bleeding the system...especially at the top...leaving less for the masses to feed on...so normal is becoming abnormal...back to the Dickensian days...
1
Anarchy has been brewing since the 80s...when decent folk lost their jobs...and after which the politicians became part of the rich elite...who are only here to rob us...then high hurdle else where...some tropical island...and always a tax haven...we've been robbed, mugged...and now the poor get poorer...and angrier...
1
It was the govt that took away their money and funding...
1
This nation has been Swin-dled...or is it Swin-doned...

@MrEdrftgyuji But town and cities have great transport links...and some have parking space...but it costs...but so does encouraging a consumer society that relies heavily upon the car to reach out of town retail parks...not to mention the oil. It will all go back to town centres again...as people wise up and begin to care about the environment...and communal shopping...all the more so when there is no petrol at the pumps...or the price has become extortionate...and no doubt a certain Mr Putin will have a big say in all of this
1
@MrEdrftgyuji Yes it's much easier that way, besides...to hell with the planet...today's society imagines they can buy another one at Asda...and the rich make moves to live in space, or on Mars...nothing like running away from issues, instead of resolving them at source
1
@BraveNewUs A brave man indeed...but then courage brings STRENGTH...let me know when you can carry a double decker...for then...you can be considered a man...
