Having a common enemy momentarily deflects from the deep, unresolved issues in these mining villages that are Mrs T's legacy, along with the rich elite. It wasn't the mines they wished to close, it was the working class they wished to destroy, so they could steal the nation's crown jewels, namely all the nationalised industries and social housing, whilst increasing the power and influence of the rich in future economic and employment debates and policies. At that point, we lost our heart and conscience, and were soon owned by corporate companies, shareholders, many of them international, who have no care for how we live, or do not live here in the UK. Their only care, is their profits!

@Bessie Hillum She quashed the miners to crush Unionism and the working class, so she could steal the nation's silverware and crown jewels alike, namely to hand over on silver platters,to stock markets and corporate companies, the nationalised industries and social housing that had been built up on the premise of sharing and community is good, and these were paid for by the taxes of the workers, whilst the rich shoved their monies on off-shore accounts, so they didn't have to contribute to our society on one hand, but ensured that they could afford the most expensive forms of education that guaranteed the perpetuation and retention of power and wealth for themselves. Quite an irony for the astute observer. It's called MURDER AND THEFT, CRIMINAL TO ITS CORE!!! The pits were perfectly viable, and this woman was no ecological warrior, she had no conscience!!!

The dispute was not about a reasonable argument to close pits due to their unsutainability, or unecological basis. Clean coal technology was already about back then, the coal mines was profitabel in all bar a few mines, which could be mostly made economical...and supported easily by other mines...of this there is no doubt. It meant the govt could rely on taxes from these nationalised industries...which were far higher then than now...and they created great wealth around them...for miners spent money on many things...so everyone benefitted...apart from a few of the richest and meanest crooks known to mankind...except you dont tend to know them, as the politicians are their fronts...their stookes...after the Strike...which cost billions...the nations asstes, paid for by miners etc out of their taxes...were stolen by a few rich, who evaded tax...and made millions simply by destroying the unions and workers communties...it was a free for all for a few greedy corrupt...yet the honest folk of the mining areas were labelled the enemy within...now, law and order have fallen apart, the country is skint, but those rich elite are richer than ever...thanks to Thatcher and her boot boys. How people do not undertsnad the real issues at play, and the real truths, is beyond me...but the press and media play a role in this, and they were known for lying during the Strike...many mines could have remained open and used with clean coal technology...lessening our reliance on unstable countries that are usually oppressors of people...and so with such crooks ruling this nation, and others, WW3 is inevitable...perhaps after that we shall finally have peace...

@haroldlawson8771 Of natural causes, whereas many died due to her policies, people and communities, including the UK, which had its national resources handed on a silver platter to the money markets and get richer quicker companies. Hence why this country quickly died a death after the Strike, although these acts were murders, not natural deaths, along with many suicides, marital breakdowns, and other issues abounding. All the Tories wanted was to crush Unions, and thieve the nation's silverware from the people, for a few elites, and they did it, even legalised it. Before the Laws of the Almighty this will be judged for what it was...MURDER AND THEFT! Thus, do I shudder where the soul of this person now resides.
