@PrinceofPersia7074 The Caste system of India existed for thousands of years, long before the British came. In fact, the British forced the Indians to stop some of the worst practices of the system while India was a colony.

@PrinceofPersia7074 In all cases of that happening, slavery existed there before Europeans arrived. I'm afraid you've been fed lies and propaganda, my friend. Look at Africa, the coastal kingdoms there had gotten rich off of slavery long before any European landed ashore. Where do you think all the slave markets that Europeans had gotten their slaves came from? Did they set them up and establish a wide network and slave trading in only a few years? No, the markets and network already existed, the Europeans simply became new customers to the African warlords who practiced slavery.

By the time the British colonized India, the caste system in Europe would've been long gone in most places, especially Britain which was probably the most liberal in terms of political development while still having a monarchy. The caste system in India existed before, and it was never "fluid." We see Indian conservatives arguing that caste should be followed, yet if they are "conservative" why would they advocate for something the British supposedly gave them? The answer is obviously that the British did not give it to them, and what they advocate for is much older than that. And it is true that the British ended some of the worst Indian practices, such as the killing of wives to be with their husbands in death. I'm afraid it's you ho has been spoon fed propaganda, my friend.

@PrinceofPersia7074 What official documents, may I ask? Could you direct me to them? Send some links perhaps? No offense to you, but most of what you are saying is false. The British did not give then Indians their caste system in any form, it was there long before the British came. And yes, the British did put a stop to some of the worst practices, such as forcing women to die after their husbands die in order to join them in death. The British did not actively encourage the Indians to treat segments of their own people like animals, the Indians developed that on their own. And to this day, Indian conservatives and traditionalists voice support for the caste system. If they are traditionalists, then why would they support something that is supposedly foreign in origin and only existed since the late 19th century? Again, the answer if that it is a system much older than that, way older than the British era.
