Ukraine's accession to NATO would threaten Russia no more than the fact that all the countries of the former Warsaw Bloc and the Baltic states are in NATO. Why do all these countries deserve guarantees from Russian attack, but Ukraine does not? The problem is different, not at all in Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
