@yuvrajbaishya3227 I didn't mean "simple" as an antonym for "complicated" or "pretentious", which is what you seem to be associating with great cuisine. And great cuisine isn't about what's inside either. Take Jiro from the Netflix documentary "Jiro dreams of sushi". This is litteraly a 3 star michelin chef serving "just fish and rice". It's about making the same thing again and again for 50 years and getting it better everytime. You can give the same ingredients with the same recipe to 50 people and you won't get 1/10000 of their level of quality. You can't bypass experience and skills, and Japan knows that

@durpdur2477 Tokyo is the city with the largest number of 3 stars michelin restaurants ( or the largest number of michelin star restaurants, whichever ).
