  2. ​ @bornin1948  He's being voluntarily confusing with that C coding and Math hullaballoo. Bitcoin is a computer program and that's just how it was designed. Some clones of Bitcoin such as Litecoin have like +50 million coins, but you could create yours and only have it at 5 million coins max. It's an arbitrary number that doesn't really matter, because each Bitcoin can be split into 100 million sub-units (8 decimal places), so theoretically you got 2,100,000,000,000,000 (2.1 quadrillion) available sub-units of Bitcoin (called satoshis), which is more enough to remain usable for a while, even at $5 million bitcoin.

Miners will have to rely solely on transaction fees, so these could get extremely expensive, but most likely what's going to happen is that we'll use some sort of layer 2 to transact with the Bitcoin blockchain cost-effectively, just like what's happening with that ETH crap. Price should stabilize, hopefully at $1 per satoshi, or $100,000,000 😂😂per Bitcoin, or whatever currency will still be around in 2140.
