Re: 21:05 Those aren't Albemarle aircraft, they are Halifax bombers (Mk III based on the radial engines), some of which were converted to the airborne role (glider towing) and used for airborne operations, along with some which were purpose-built for the airborne role. In some of the shots you can see the bulge under the center of the fuselage which was the H2S radar installation, which I think were removed from airborne-role Halifax bombers as it wasn't needed (so showing them on the aircraft would be a mistake by the filmmakers).

@eseriva Yes, hence why I say "Ukraine also bad." But let's not pretend Russia is some innocent, noble country --- it's a de facto dictatorship, and has done plenty of shady things. Hence "Russia bad." Let the two fight each other if they want. It's none of our damned business. I tend to think the war is more about settling unfinished business from eighty years ago.

The U.S. would have been at war with Germany within six months to a year of Pearl Harbor, with the skirmishes in the Atlantic leading to it. btw before Germany declared war against the US the US was full of pro Germans who liked the ideology even in a decent amount of high ranking positions Contrary to the perception of the American public being mostly isolationist, Gallup polling from the time clearly indicates the American public expected the country to enter the war, and was in favor in taking actions against Germany even if such actions risked war. The public did not want to go to war, but mostly understood it was probably necessary.

@StalinLovsMsmZioglowfagz They almost destroyed the RAF. If you're referring to the Battle of Britain, the RAF was never close to being defeated --- the idea that it was is a myth. Indeed, it would have taken something of a miracle for the Luftwaffe to prevail as it was fighting an uphill battle from the start. Britain was actually outproducing Germany in fighters during the battle. Winning air superiority over the enemy's homeland is a difficult task. To see the kind of effort it requires in terms of aircraft, strategies, and tactics, look at the USAAF's effort to win daytime air superiority over Germany during the first six months of 1944.
