Campbell said claiming Indigenous heritage where there is none robs Indigenous candidates from being recognized for their achievement, minimizes their lived experience, and minimizes the impact of colonization in her opinion. Why give that long, convoluted statement? All you needed to say was, "She lied about her heritage, and acquired the honourary degree under false pretenses." That's it.
