  1.  @FortitudineVincimus  Airlines are not carbon copies of each other. Each has different aircraft, different routes, different operating structures, different hubs, different staffing, etc. Due to these factors, some are more vulnerable to disruptions than others. Then you've got federal regulations on top of that which mandate how many hours a pilot can be on duty in a day, and how many hours per month a pilot can fly. Weather or maintenance delays can cause crews to exceed those hours, requiring a different crew to be brought in to take over that flight, assuming a replacement crew is available.
