Stop letting the federal government inflate the currency supply whenever and by whatever amount it wants. Doing that would put an end to inflation.

If public sector workers think their jobs are so awful, they can quit and find more lucrative work in the private sector, or start their own business and be their own boss. But they never do. Why? Because they know sucking at the public teat is the best thing going. No accountability, no need to actually be productive.

"You don't know what it's like out there. I've worked in the private sector. They expect results."

@jdib Prices can only come down if the federal government shrinks the currency supply. But national governments -- the ones in charge of the currency -- NEVER reduce the currency supply, they only ever increase it which is what causes inflation. This is basic economics.

UBI would be one of the biggest boondoggles if ever implemented. Why? The concept of UBI was floated as a way of REDUCING government. Instead of a myriad of government support programs and the huge number of government workers required to administer them, concentrate support into a single payment eligible to nearly everyone. This would greatly streamline the system, allowing the vast bureaucracy to be slashed enormously as they would no longer be needed. The net result would be a savings, as the higher cost of UBI payments would be offset by a larger savings in reduced government overhead. But there is no way the huge number of government workers would let themselves be made redundant with a UBI scheme. So what would happen is that UBI would be implemented ON TOP of all the existing social welfare programs. There'd be the greatly increased cost WITHOUT the associated savings of reduced government overhead. This is why any UBI plan would be a fiasco. It would not be implemented in line with its original intent.
