  1. It's interesting how all the news networks are giving this ample coverage. The cynic in me thinks Loblaws offered some under-the-table payments to Global "News" and friends so they could get this advertising masquerading as reporting.

  2. LOL that's been going on for three decades. Businesses know customers are sensitive to price increases. So, rather that increase the price as costs rise (inflation is always in positive figures), and possibly negatively impact sales, they reduce the packaging size. Note that reducing packaging sizes is not without cost. All the packaging has to be redesigned and reprinted; all that new packaging shipped to the necessary facilities; and those facilities may have to make sure the new packaging works with the existing machinery. All that said, if rising prices bother you, you should be directing your anger at the parties responsible: the Liberal-NDP federal government and its inflationary monetary policies. (It's so strange how many people don't seem to understand that inflation is the direct result of government monetary policy.)
