This is another case for Universal Basic Income. Having a basic income for all could actually save the Government money in streamlining services for everyone that is accessing things like disability benefits for Vets and for other disabled persons. That's the theory. UBI is supposed to REPLACE all other forms of social welfare, thereby greatly lowering the administrative overhead. But do you seriously think all those social workers and other public sector bureaucrats are going to willingly let themselves be made unemployed? What's going to happen is that UBI will be added ON TOP of all the other social welfare programs, greatly INCREASING government expenditures instead of lowering them.

And firing a whole bunch of health care staff who didn't want to take a certain medical injection which evidence increasingly shows is mostly useless for most people wasn't a good idea either.

@floatingleaf9672 Define "living wage". Please be precise.

@bradcanning875 Define "living wage". Please be precise. As for government handouts to businesses, yes, those should end, seeing as the more governments attempt to favour an industry they almost inevitably make things worse instead of better, and distort the economy and market as a result.

Support our Nurses! And where was the support of nurses for the nurses who didn't want to take any of the COVID vaccines? Because most nurses seemed quite happy to throw their fellow nurses under the bus for not jumping on the injection train.

I seem to recall there was plenty of bonus money being paid out to nurses who worked at COVID vaccination clinics. Weird how that isn't being mentioned.

@bradcanning875 You do know the choice is NOT between our current, clearly failing system and private care, right? There are plenty of publicly-funded health care systems around the world from which we could choose. Perhaps the publicly-funded system we are using simply isn't a particularly good one as compared to others.

Hire back the nurses fired for not taking a certain medical injection.

@bradcanning875 One tied to the cost of living region to region. That would become insanely complicated very quickly. It also doesn't address the fact that the increase in the cost of living is a DIRECT RESULT of the federal government's OWN ACTIONS. If the federal government would stop inflating the currency supply, there wouldn't be inflation. Expecting the government to solve the problems it creates seems like a fool's errand.

How much of this pressure is due to staff who were fired for not getting a certain medical injection that evidence increasingly shows is mostly useless for most people? Why do "news" networks never investigate this particular angle?
