  2. What Canada does in regards to lowering its carbon footprint is utterly meaningless as long as China continues to pump out massive, world-leading amounts of CO2. China emits more CO2 in a day than does Canada in three weeks.

Petroleum offers good energy density, and is much easier to handle as a fuel than hydrogen, even though the latter has better energy density. There are also other options to handle climate change that don't involved alternative energy, options that, while sounding like science fiction, are actually doable.
