Questions an actual journalist would ask: Over what time span did these cases take place? How many of these cases actually had symptoms? How many got sick? How many were hospitalized? How many were admitted to an ICU? How many died? But since Global News doesn't actually employ journalists, such questions won't get asked.

@porphyrienne Because a piece of cloth is not a magical force field?

According to Alberta's official COVID data as of May 25th: -- 99.92% survival/recovery rate for cases under 60 years of age -- only 1 in 45 cases under the age of 60 was ever hospitalized -- only 1 in 234 cases under the age of 60 was ever admitted to an ICU -- only 1 in 1,274 cases under the age of 60 died Not quite the Ebola-Black Death-Spanish Flu combination some make it out to be.

@sandorski56 Food/drink/retail establishments were responsible for roughly 2.5% of cases according to the outbreaks data that used to be published in the weekly PHAC reports. (They've stopped including the data.)

@zzzzzzzz8498 Well, then you surely must have an official link to a government site that has this data. Alberta does provide some good COVID data, but it buries other data (i.e. the number of cases and deaths in LTCs).

@porphyrienne LMAO comparing UV rays to a virus.

Misleading is Global News' middle name.

@northernwolfhound7096 Nah, just a not particularly entertaining troll. I can respect a good troll. But few, it seems, want to be creative or clever.

Cases in Alberta have dropped like a stone over the last two weeks.

@porphyrienne You do know the actual level of risk COVID poses in Canada on both a per case and per capita basis,, don't you?

Over what time span did these cases take place? How many of these cases actually had symptoms? How many got sick? How many were hospitalized? How many were admitted to an ICU? How many died? These questions and their answers matter.

Not quite as much risk as you might think. I think it's safe to say most oil workers are going to be under 60 years of age. The per capita risk of virus death among those under 60 in Alberta is 1 in 21,883 (161 deaths out of 3,523,230 people in the age group, as of May 29th).
