  4.  @firstandforemost87  UBI will be a giant boondoggle because it won't be implemented the way the concept intends. UBI is supposed to REPLACE all other forms of social welfare, allowing the massive government bureaucracy involved in the administering of social welfare programs to be dispensed with, resulting in a net savings with that reduced administrative overhead. But there is no way public sector workers are going to allow themselves to be fired en masse. Which means any UBI plan will be implemented ON TOP OF existing social welfare programs, thereby INCREASING government expenditures instead of reducing them.
