  13.  @DCboi51  If you make a graph of Ontario's active case count, and plot against that the 7-day moving average of COVID hospitalizations, you will find a tight correlation from August 2020 onward. However, over the last week or so, active cases have gone up but hospitalizations haven't. It may be hospitalizations are trailing active cases a bit more than has been typical, or it may signify a decoupling between cases and hospitalizations. It's too soon to tell for certain. Note that active cases and hospitalizations are both LESS THAN HALF of what they were at this same time last year. ICU admissions are nearly one-fifth below what they were at this same time last year. By those measures, things are much better in Ontario this year as compared to this same time last year. Yet you won't hear that from the "news" or public "health."
