  2. I strongly suspect this push to get all the other countries, especially Western countries, to slash their CO2 output is so that China can increase theirs. China, the #1 emitter of CO2 in 2019, pumping out as much by itself as did the next five nations combined. China, the #1 emitter of CO2 in the world every year since 2005. China, the nation which emitted more CO2 in the last 15 years than did the United States over the last 25. China, the world's biggest contributor to carbon dioxide which magically almost never gets mentioned for its role.
