im not surprised Girkin will be falling out of a window soon....he must have strong backers for him not to get assasinated as he has been fighting with Garasimov shoigu and Prigozhin, even called Kadyrov a lunatic.

I dont think the Russians can hammer Ukrainina supply lines, since trheir drones dont work, the Russians are firing blind, hence the Ukrainians have been able to keep their troops supplied at Bakhmut. Also the RUssian strategy of grinding away the Ukrainians at Bakhmut I think is folly, very poor strategy, from what I hear, Russian casualties are 3X to 5X the Ukrainains. and its not only wagner convicts fighting at bakhmut, Russian regular conscrupts and Russian army convicts are also fighting . I think the main reason why the Russians want Bakhmut is that its a high ground area which can give them an advantage in their offensive towards Slovyansk and important step to taking all of Donbass, and Putin has a lot of manpower to waste since most of them are convicts. Also if they take Bakhmut they can spin it as a propogandsa victory no matter that they lost 50K men and several months to get it. This will still play well to many Russians. The educated Russians nope, many already left Russia.

However in the overall scheme of things Bakhmut is not worth the cost in human lives to take it. yes they will take a high ground but the Ukrainians have lots of defensive lines built beyond Bakhmut and even prigozhin said it will take a year to take all of the Donbass. Putin is willing to spend as much Russian lives possible to achieve his minimum goals of taking all of the DOnbass and securing the Crimea. and int he process grind down the Ukrainian army. I think the shit has given up on the idea of taking all of Ukraine and just focusing on regime survival. So Im not sure the reaction of the Russian people when he declares vicotry after taking say 25 percent of Ukraine which all infrastructure has practically been destroyed, a large number of hte population fled or dead, farm land destroyed. and at the cost of 1 million Russian casualties(300K dead), 10K or more vehicles lost, economy depressed , Russian prestige all time low , Russia now a economic vassal state to China. and continuing Ukrainian offensives along with partisan activity . I wonder how Putin can frame that one as a win win .

Here is the problem with Bakhmut, Russian drones simply dont work properly in winter, and its very cold in Bakhmut, so the Russians are firing blind with their artillery, going back to WW2 eastern front style pray and spray mass bombardment. and using WW1 style mass infantry attacks. or in the case of Bakhmut and other battles, rushing small groups of infantry at entrenched fortified Ukrainian positions in constant daily attacks. Also due to HMARs strikes on Russian logistics , the Russians have ammo shortages at bakhmut which partyly explains why Wagner is complaining about not being given ammo by the RUssian army(the Russian units are given first prioirty then everyone else along with political infighting between Prigo and SHoigu/Garasimov). so yes the Russian artillery is scary in Bakhmut and has greatly aided the Russian advances but it could have been a bit better if it were not for their poor logistical situatikon. Also the Russians could only attack incrementally and cant seem to do a maassed concentrated coordinated attack at one point. Again Russians logistics are so poor that they cannot support such an attack and it fall apart quickly if they tried.
