Yes it worked for Ukraine to rush inexperienced poorly trained men to the battlefield but the difference these Ukr men were highly motivated to fight and had good area knowledge. and well led, the Russians, poorly motivated, poorly trained, poorly led. poorly supplied too. across the board poor. little to no area knowledge. there are reports of Russian BTGs manned by these guys collapsing after a few days of combat with Ukrs.

Agree with both of you guys however I would like to add: yes the Russians unestimated the poorly train Ukrainian militia at the start of hte war, to their cost, however the difference between the hastilly called up Ukr militia early in the war, and the Russian forced draftees is in two things: 1. MORALE AND MOTIVATION: the Ukrainians poorly trianed to untrained militia were well motivated with high morale to fight the Russian invaders and it made a big difference , 2. LOCAL KNOWLEDGE: the Ukr militia had local knowledge of the areas they are fighting in and used in in the full advantage. The Russian draftees nope nada no knowledge the battlefield they are fighting in. and very poor morale they dont want to be in ukraine. Yes its bad very bad to underestimate your enemy, but I think the only difference it will make is to prolong the war. but while Putin mobilizes more and prolongs the war, it badly affects support for Putin in Russia. and provokes more violent unrest.
