In the future I can see more T-62s being sent to Ukraine, cheaper all around plus if destroyed well its an old cheap tank. and in the Ukr war, tank to tank duels are rare, so any tank the Russian send can be destroyed. so yah I can see the logic in just sending in T-62s and also the T-90s and T-80s and even T-72s being held back in reserve. I suspect the Russians have a substantial reserve of regular trained Russian troops just in case Russia is invaded. Putin will most likely just send in poorly motivated and trained conscripts to fight in Ukraine since they are cheaper and more expendable. trying to drown the Ukraininas in bodies and the Russian leadership esp. Putin still have a low regard on Ukrs troops despite evidence to the contrary. Its that deluded in the Russian leadership these days.

Interestingly during the last Kharkov counteroffensives the Ukrs forces were encountering Russian BTGs manned by newly drafted troops armed with T-90s and T-80s, yah these BTGs were hurriedly emergency raised and provided with any weapon at hand to throw at the Ukrs to plug the holes in the lines. well it did not end well, Russian BTGs were very poorly trained, many just trained for a day or less. and given tanks they were not familiar with , well the Ukrs ended up capturing a number of T-90s and T-80s and the newly raised BTGs only lasted a few days of contact with the Ukrs forces before being destroyed.
