yah in 1949, the AK47 was state of the art, the best assault rifle in the world. the US military was still fielding the M1 garand, the British the Lee enfield bolt action rifle. Now in 2022, the main assault rifle of Russia is the AK74, adopted in 1974.

the Rhodesians were undder heavy sanctions from the west when they made the muzzle break but still Rhodesian army was still quite effective until the very end and developed some very interesting and effective weapon systems despite being heavilly sanctioned and on the cheap too.

@dmitrikulkevicius9161 true, and it pays directly to the Chechen gov. and also lot of weapons go tot eh chechens to keep them happy, however Kadyrov is biding his time, when Putin is goine, Kadyrov will declare independence. with a strong army.

yah sten is very easy to make, the Israeli guerillas during the 1944 to 1948 insurgency war vs the British in Palestine and the 1948 arab israeli war made Stens in primitive workshops yep easy to make with the right tools however if poorly made tended to jam a lot. However the sten is a devastating close in sub machinegun. at close ranges.

yah WW2 guns were heavy , shot a garand once and it was heavy the only light WW2 rifle I experiened was the M1 carbine.

Sorry I dont agree with your politics esp. on UKraine, love your gun channel though.

well RPGs have been used as improvised indirect fire weapons before, seen it used this way all the way back to the Vietnam war. RPGs are very useful as a direct and indirect fire weapon. so its not a stretch to modify mortar rounds as RPG warheads, and also during the Chechen wars, the Chechen guerillas strapped plastic explosives semtex to RPG warheads to use against the Russians. supposedly very effective.

well yah the guy who got issued the MOsin nagant rifle was one of those Russian puppet donbass miliitias who are bottom of the barrell when it comes to Russian logistics, and this guy is a sniper and Moisin nagants while old can be effective sniper rifles.
1
Ukraine has become a dumping ground for world small arms, heck both sides are using WW2 weapons.
1
Ive even seen photos of Russian troops with the American BAR M1918 rifle used in WW1 & 2. so yah US lend lease seems to have worked out for hte Russians like 80 years too late hahah
1
the maxim machine gun is a rugged machinegun and still very effective. as shown in the current battle of Bakhmut which is basically Verdun WW1 trench warfare in Ukraine 2022.

There are more of these WW2 weapons being used on the Russian side esp. on the Donbass Russian puppet militias. On the Ukrs side, you have a mass variety of cold war to modern small arms from Western Europe to American nations. vintage cold war mainstays like the Belgian FALs, West German G-3s, Spanish CETMEs from the 50s and 60s and HK33s FN CALsfrom the 70s are being used in quantity. along with 1980s Austrian Steyr Augs, along with Eastern Euro cold war variants of the Soviet AK47. Also ive seen Ukrs forces using some exotic 21st century small arms from Israel and SIngapore, but I think the most dominant small arm for both sides is the AK-74 , with the AKM going for #2.

@commiesnzombies More like the SKS. rifle, it was actually designed to replace the Moisin nagant,

yah the last darwin award hit him in the pelvic area, it would be worse if the shooter used a hollowpoint or glaser round.

why the Chechens are set up better than the Russians, since the Chechens were at war with the Russians from the 90s to 2010s and the fact that Putin poured a lot of money in chechnya and in this war the Chechens are one of Russia's elite go to units yah the Chechens can afford setting up their stuff better.
1
well the RPG warheads with taped grenades on it is nothing new, Chechens also used them in the 90s vs. the Russians. Very effective as from what I have read.
1
as for sub guns....both sides using Thompsons, PPSHs, UZIs MP5 etc. heck Ive seen a Ukr militia using a German MP-40 ww2 schmeisser.
1
a thermobaric 40mm round is absolutely devastating heck they even have thermobaric hand grenades.
