I think another major reason why Trump is tarrifing his allies this hard is that Putin is pressuring Trump with blackmail to pressure the allies of Ukraine to stop aid to ukraine and pressure Ukraine to accept the Russian terms which practically equates to a surrender. which her allies(except for the USA) refused. I dont think the Russians can or want to push into Europe, the Russians are struggling in ukraine and fighting NATO even without USA support will be disastrous for Putin, the Russian army was ruined in Ukraine.
