Well I think the USA should send the following: Lots of Toyota Tacomas, Hiluxes, with bulletproof bodies and glass. with weapon mounts military excellent quality off road tires, wheeled APCs. Lots more Javelins, and any other top attack ATGMs, more stingers, more GPS, more night vision gear, drones esp. LOTS of switchblades secure comms. Why is that: Well, the Russians are probably planning a massive slow careful tank offensive backed up by heavy artillery, air support. The ground in southern Ukraine is perfect tank country, hard ground, open plains, weather also warming up 20 C in April. little rain. So the Russians will be conducting a classic battle of firepower, tank heavy infantry heavy cut the enemy into pockets then use massive firepower to destroy each pocket one by one at leisure. Typical Russian strategy after they get a bloody nose. The Russians will probably modify this one employing their own military trucks with elite soldiers to provide security for their convoys. and to counter enemy trucks. Now it will be suicide for the Ukrs to play by the RUssian mech book, the Russians have more AFVs more artillery and air support than the Ukrs, so how do you fight this strategy. Take a page from the Chadians in their 1980s Toyota war, and the South Africans in the Battle of Cuito Cunavale vs. Angola in 87. Both were faced with tank heavy forces in open terrain. so you deal with these by being more mobile and faster than your opponent. The Russians will probably employ mostly tracked AFVs, in open hard terrain, wheeled vehicles are actually much more faster and maneuverable. Also these vehicles can run rings around Russian tracked AFVs. THe Chadians used old desert maneuver battle tactics and just substituted Toyota trucks to their old horses and camels vs. the tank heavy libyans. THe Ukrainians can use this strategy in the open hard plains of Southern Ukraine. Ukrs do hit and run attacks ont he Russians again like in the north focusing on their logistics, Russian airpower is clumsy, large numbers of mounted Stingers and Star streaks will ward off Russian airpower, for artillery, Ukrs not only can coordinate their regular artillery with their drones but also use drone swarms as mobile smart artillery. Imagine,. lots of switchblade drones launched from these trucks with a 40 mile range loiter, then swarm attack Russian positions, very good vs. logistical vehicles which is your main target and also Russian stationary artillery. These drones not only double as kamikazes but also as recon drones , where you can bracket enemy units with Ukr artillery. civilian trucks are gas economical, much more easy to repair, durable off road very fast and mobile and can even go anti tank minefields. as proved by the Chadian toyota war of the 80s. and Ukr strategies should be hit and run. shoot and scoot, then repeat, the Ukrs have the advantage of range with the Javelin ATGMs which are very deadly vs. Russian AFVs. also fast moving trucks make difficult targets.

that is excellent South KOrea has to test its latest weapons on the Russians, Russians are just good test subjects for the latest 1st world NATO US allied weapon systems.

yah true, during its independence the country was in civil war with the Burmese gov trying to survive vs. numerous ethnic rebellions with the Burmese gov at the time only controlling Rangoon. Only under the Ne win dictatorship int he 1960s was the Rangoon gov able to wrest control of most of the country from various ethnic and ideological rebel groups who were very much poorly coordinated. for decades the Tatmadaw the Myanmar military were the ones who controlled the country and kept things stable despite blatant horrible corruption and misrule. Now after 60 years of Tatmadaw rule, the Burmese people got fed up and want a new way to rule Myanmar, and yah if they manage to overthrow the Tatamadaw from power, I htink Myanmar will still be a federal state but the states wil have a bit more autonomy to rule themselves.

yah I think when Myanmar opened up to the world during the leadership of Aung San su chi the Burmese got to go out of Burma work in Thailand knew what was going on in the world and found the Myanmar was totally misruled by their leaders, and made to be one of the poorest countires in the world , so the Burmese of all ethnicities all sick and tired of decades of abuse from the Myanmar gov opted hey we want t brand new gov and a new way of ruling hte country and open up Myanmar totally . The Tatmadaw are getting their asses kicked . Interesting what China will do, dont think China will intervene since that might be a reason for war with India. as both countries esp. India views Myanmar as its back door.

@timbrwolf1121 we tend to laugh at technicals but when properly used these can be very deadly against modern armoured forces.

@timbrwolf1121 that also works but the toyotas cheaper smaller faster more maneuverable, humvess can act as mobile artillery with switchblade drone swarm launchers since the Humvees can carry more stuff than the toyota trucks.

Also Russians already have poorly motivated troops, low morale, poorly trained, relying on heavy firepower, poor use of comms which have been hacked and Russians speak plainly in unsecure comms. and while the Russians maybe have an initial manpower advantage, this will erode, as the Ukrainians actually have millions of men and women very motivated to fight in their reserves which I think will be thrown in this battle. The Russians have limited reserves since Putin cant really call up his reserves and the conscripts he has already called up are even poorer motivation and quality than the alrad sucky quality contractual, troops, air support is poor pooly coordinated, they dont really multi role.

@zarakdurrani7584 yah even if NATO supplies them with Leopard 2s M1A1s etc. and you take on the Russians head on, it will be a disaster for the Ukrs. since the Russians have a bit more quantitiy in AFVs , playing the Russians at their game head on is suicide. since the Russians have the numbers superiority in terms of equipment and firepower. However how do you win against that in open ground take a page from the mongols during the middle ages, massively outnumbered by their enemies on the battlefield but they mostly won due to maneuver. Maneuver speed , good tactics is key vs. the Russians in the open plains of Southern Ukraine, also take a page from the Russian civil war where the Ukrainians used Tachankas in the open plains, horse and cart with a maxim machinegun on it. shoot and scoot very effective. vs. enemy infantry and cavalry.

@jamesmedina2062 then we can buy them massively abroad humvees are not that maneuverable and fast cost more too and not as rugged as Toyota Hiluxes Tacomas etc. you can buy em in the used US market too. same in Canada. and not only a hilux, Tundras , etc. a lot of good rugged off road pick up trucks to use. the byword for buying combat trucks are reliability, ruggedness, good fuel efficieny, and strong body. Humvees are good as back up drone artillery carriers or mounts for star streak missles.

I suspect the Ukrs want planes, since they are deficient in that category vs. the Russians. Cancelling Russian air superiority is key.

Post war, Ukrainians military are gong to be some of the best equipped and probably the best quality and most experienced military in Europe. and probably the most admired military int he world having fought and defeated the vastly larger and better equppped Russian army. The Russian army will be a laughingstock for decades to come.

and no tanks, planes ships etc. useless. THe Ukrs has enough tanks which I think are actually being used as a strategic tactical reserve hang back, exhaust and demoralize the Russians with lots of truck mounted ATGM hit and run attacks, drone swarms, surprise night attacks. then when the Russian are exhausted demoralized enough with low supply and a lot of AFV losses, a massive Ukrainian mech offensive as a coup de grace.

who cares about what Russia thinks...after this war is over, the Russians will be so desperate to keep their economy afloat they will forget everything about the war and blame all ills on Putin and forgive the countries who supported Ukraine.

@zarakdurrani7584 A lopsided affair true, but this is an advantage for the underdog sinc the superior in firepower enemy will totally underestimate the underdog and this leaves him open to exploitation in combat.

@zarakdurrani7584 However I think it may be a ruse to keep the Russian underestimting the Ukrainians. THe Ukrs forces are already fielding civilian vehicles to transport their men to the battlefield only a small stretch to turn this from transport to field maneuver warfare. Northern Ukraine is more rugged more cover for ambushes southern Ukr more hard ground, wide open plains. esp. summer is coming so weather is clear. So ambushes should change to maneuver hit and run and suprise night attacks.

@zarakdurrani7584 and the mongol cavalry archers did hit and run on their enemies many times, then when the enemy is weak sand demoralized the Mongols had heavy armoured cavalry which are used to finish off the enemy. The Ukrs are probably keeping their mech forces in strategic reserve, when the Ukr trucks really weaken the Russians , demoralize them and put them out of supply then unleash the Ukr strategic reserves and shatter the Russians.

Ukrainians high morale high motivation relatively better trained than the Russians, know their areas, and have lots of NATO weapons being supplied to them every day. Adopted NATO style command and control leadership for their troops. Russians still use that clumsy archaic SOviet style centralized command doctrine for their troops.
