Some of the buildings look a bit kitsch, but many of them are nice. Overall, a great improvement. This is a step to reach the cultural revolution we need to bring back traditional architecture and beauty. I'm sure future projects will be even better.

@the_aesthetic_city What do you think is the best way to get a beautiful building without spending too much? A concrete skeleton with an artificial/cast stone facade? Or maybe cast stone would still look a bit fake? Would a brick facade be better? Or idk: a full concrete building with just some decoration on like some stucco/some brick or even some stone?

@tomassakalauskas2856 thank you for the comment I somehow agree :) but a beautiful traditional building can be built in a few time, especially something quite simple (like a simple traditional home). There is a beautiful eclectic/romanesque church near to my home which was built from 1927 to 1930.

@branislavcunta7763 I think you didn't properly read my comment. I'm not one of those people pro modernism who calls everything which isn't modernist 'kitsch'. But some of the buildings are not proper traditional buildings, they give a post modern vibe which I don't like. Every architect properly trained in classical architecture would see it. Overall it's not too bad, this is a step to reach the cultural revolution we need, future traditional projects will be even better I think.

@nntflow7058 kitsch is not about decoration. Paris' buildings are properly traditional buildings while some of this not, they are a mix between modernism and classical, the result is a bit kitsch and postmodern. Many are nice tho.

@nobilesnovushomo58 kitschy is not good. It means that it's not a proper traditional building. But many of the buildings don't look kitsch + this is a step to reach the culturalal revolution to finally bring back good traditional architecture.

@cthoadmin7458 yeah I can already imagine the wonderful buildings 'modern but not modernist'. By the way, I don't see the problem. Traditional architecture doesn't always mean a speficial style, a lot of buildings are simply traditional without having a specific style + classical/traditional is wonderful, let's just bring it back and amen. People had no problems in 'using previous styles' (we have many examples) before ww2, this pointless way of thinking is quite recent.

@superspeederbooster many of the buildings are not 'old architecture' but they give more a postmodern vibe, many are nice tho.

@blanco7726 I don't think is very kitschy. Some of the buildings are, some not. This is a step so we can slowly go back to true traditional buildings, which we are still capable of doing.

@puccaland yeah I'm sure 🤣🤣🤣, even if you are right: In Italy we are full of buildings not built in a contemporary style who are not and not considered kitsch, I gave you many example (like the library in florence). We can build everything in every existing style without make it look kitsch. Bye

@cthoadmin7458 there are only 2 things: modernism and traditional architecture, that people like you love to call 'disneyland' which means nothing. A well done traditional building is a well done traditional building, nothing 'disneyland' or 'kitsch' about it. And it's not 'copying the past', it's just a traditional project.

@puccaland not even one of the buildings I mentioned above was considered kitsch (only the national library was criticized by some architects but never by the public) so no. A lot of modern buildings have been built in traditional styles without being and without being considered kitsch. Kitsch is a term applied to art and design that is perceived as naive imitation, overly eccentric, gratuitous or of banal taste. If things are WELL DONE we talk about new traditional architecture, not 'KITSCH'.

@puccaland that's the official definition of kitsch, you can even use google or wikipedia for that. Some of the buildings here are well done, other gives a kitschy vibe and could have been done better, that's all. The project overall feels right. Have a nice day.

@mirror_mizuumi this is bullshit. A lot of buildings we love have been built using a style which wasn't contemporary. The london parliament, and cologne's cathedral are both gothic structures built in 1800! Florence's duomo facade was made by the end of 1800! St Mark's campanile is a 1900 reconstruction, Ieper City Hall was rebuilt after ww2! la Fenice, a famous italian baroque theatre, was rebuilt in the 90s after the original got destroyed in a fire. All warsaw's historical centre is a reconstruction, the castle was rebuilt in the 70s. Those are all "fakes" (I don't agree with this definition but ok) and they all look wonderful. So shut up.

@puccaland yeah, I'm sure that cologne's cathedral was considered kitsch just because it was built in 1800 (it's not kitschal at all)....again, we are full of buildings not built in a contemporary style that have never been considered/are not kitsch. Messina's duomo was rebuilt after 1908 in the norman's style (it was baroque before) and it's beautiful + has never been considered kitsch by anyone (and it's not).

@puccaland I used 1800 to express the century. Sacre coeur in Paris is kitsch? Not at all. When I say kitsch I mean that they could have done a better job because some fo the buildings give a post midern/kitschy vibe. Ever seen the national library of Florence? Built from the 1910s to the 1930s in a clear neo renaissance style and it's not kitsch. Look at it. Torre della Vittoria in Ferrara was built from 1924 to 1928.. it's a copy of a medieval tower.. does it look fake or kitsch? No. We are full of buildings not build in a contemporary style who don't look kitsch.

@jonathanniay4649 it's not so bad, after decades of modernism it's not easy to go back. Keep in mind that even in the past a lot of cities/areas where built/rebuilt ad the same time without reaching a 'building on the same day/disneyland' look. The historical centre of Reggio Calabria was all invented after the city was destroyed in 1908 and it doesn't look disneyland at all.
