  1. Protesting isnt wrong. But remember even the constitution sets limits. You can peacefully assemble. Signs, crowds, megaphones etc. You cannot riot or destroy property. The constitution does not protect that. Those statues like it or not are public property and destroying or vandalizing them is indeed a crime that is punishable by law.

  2. Its less that and more we have enough big problems without the whole erasing history thing so we really need to focus on those. So this little issue is getting taken care of now. Its a bit harsh. But itll work and deter all but the most agressive people.
