There are two of them. Left by Alan Shepard on apollo 14. An avid golfer, he snuck a iron and a couple of balls in his sock. he wanted to conduct a "experiment" to see how far they would fly in low gravity. The first one went no where. The second one went over 600 ft. He didn't think to bring them back. Since nasa didn't sanction it in the first place.

Not to be rude but the Pioneer Zephyr ran on the Chicago Burlington & Quincy railroad. The railroads president Ralph budd actually came up with the trains name Zephyr. After reading The Canterbury Tales. I really do appreciate your inclusion of it in the history of high-speed rail. It is quite frequently overlooked.

If you were on coke you would guess that. And you would know all about coke huh guy

And so is your undiagnosed brain tumor. Radiation works wonders on that though. So don't fret

Would you do one on the EMD 567?

Supposedly Columbia was photographed by a KH 11 satellite during STS 1 after they found damage on the OMS pods. Doesnt pertain to STS 107 but still neat.

Curious Droid can you do a video on the history of tilting trains? I'm a big fan of the SJ X2.

Curious droid. Why don't you talk about some of the classified shuttor missions such a sts 51j. I think it would be cool. Thumbs up if you think so too

@cokemachine5510 so is that respectable hairline of yours.

@cokemachine5510 you got a head of spaghetti. Them sideburns look like noodles. You tried your best but you didn't solve your midlife crisis. Cut it off and get a wig. The mustache is fly though ngl

Should have used in The Spy Who Loved Me. Instead of that Sardinian train.

I'm with this guy. the computer is very important but where's the wheel? the steam turbine? the American 4 4 0? the propeller? the world would be truly different without them.

@spacecatboy2962 don't listen to him. The south was the better army. If that message hadnt gotten intercepted you guys would have won hands down. You sure knew how to do a rebellion the right way. Respect to you guys

Curious droid. Can you do an episode about passenger trains in the U.S. and if they will ever return to private operation? I would think it's time appropriate since Brightline the first private passenger train since 1983 is supposed to make its first run later this year. Let me know what you think😁

the shuttle also flew a hell of a lot more then Orion. I'm just saying
1
@manchesterhall5592 ah yes I have the APT one in my favorites. But it's really only about one train. I was thinking more of a comprehensive history of the technology. Not just a particular train. As long as he talks about the X2 of course😂

Hmmmmm

true the space shuttle stopped the development of rockets to other planets. But you have to consider that the public (who was ultimately footing the bill for such an endeavour) didn't want that. remember we are talking about a time where apollo 17 JUST made the evening news highlights. to the average person going to the moon or mars was cool but wouldn't directly benefit THEM. the science gains of other planets might've helped them but the risk and investment was too big to take that chance . On the other hand a spacecraft that definitely would improve their quality of life with communication satellites and medical reasearch and better products seemed a hell of a lot better for the money you would fork out. also private enterprise would immediately be able to use it as opposed to the numerous tests flights you would need for something like mars. and having something to boast to the reds was not bad too. all around for someone with a 1970s attitude the shuttle was a great move. and when you look at the program as a whole. it really changed our way of life on earth for the better. With countless comsats and helpful discoveries to its credit. as well as helping promote a spirit of cooperation between races and genders. I have to say for all the money we socked into it turned out to be a pretty damn good space vehicle

Wouldnt be the first time inter service rivialry and polictics ruined a project. The XB 70, the F108, NF 107, F 111A and the RAH 66 And they almost screwed the B1 as well with that escape capsule idea. So many good projects pissed down the drain. Sssssiiiigghhh at least we have some of them in museums.

This thing turned out anywhere near the the crap of the f111a, those astronauts would have been blown up before they got of the ground. Don't trust anything that General dynamics puts out. Case in point the STRYKER
