So......sending guys with guns to prevent the sale of guns.........that's not a good look. I get you have to do something but this prevent and confiscate scheme is on par with prohibition. There's no chance in hell of it working. Stop going after the guns and go after the violence part. Enhance penalties for unjustified discharge of a weapon, better firearms education and training. Not just how to shoot. But who do you shoot? What situation do you kill not incapacitate? And vice versa. When is somebody truly a threat? Stuff like that. The cerebral part of firearms. Not just technical. Differentiate between a kill shot and a incapacitating one. Offer Incentives for purchasing non lethal weapons like tasers or rubber bullets. And increased accessibility and awareness to mental health resources. Those measures will don't take away anything but......they create alternatives and are beneficial for both people who want guns and people who don't. They've penatrated too deep into our lives (stop laughing) Trying to take that away now will create a power vacuum. And whatever fills it will not be good as history has shown time.....and time......and time again.
