@jolenetaylor4571 agreed absolute power corrupts absolutely. But answer me this. If the police are defunded, and suddenly there's a power vacuum, who's gonna fill it? I gaureentee it's not gonna be people with good intentions or motives. Grabs for power rarely are. The police while definitely not perfect are held accountable both by the public and the law. The people who would inevitably take their spot arent. They'd be mercenaries basically. Free to dispatch "justice" as they see fit. Just something to think about.

@MexicanJesus420 the people that are advocating for this are power hungry. Theyre stocking up guns and ammo so if that happens they can take over. The police have power and taking them away is going to leave a vacuum. I gaureentee the people that would fill it are not going to be better than what we have now. It's not perfect. But the police have the factor of accountability to the public and the law that the "replacements" wouldn't have. They'd be mercenaries.

Problem is people have no ability to agree on what's right and what's wrong. People have differing opinions over.......pretty much everything. Self policing would never work. Cause nobody can agree on the rules.

@jolenetaylor4571 no it's not perfect. But.....its slow. Slow to give people time to investigate, find facts, make counter arguments. Look at the case from every angle. Even in the case of death row. People wait years even decades before they're actually executed. This gives people time make sure they actually deserve it. Country justice does not do this. The decisions are emotional not logical. Its way to fast, and gets lots of innocents killed. It hardly has the track record that legal systems do.

Cause nobody is agreeable anymore. It's my way or the highway. Everything's always about how I see it. How I want it. F*** everyone else. It's Me Myself and I. That's why. People love the concept of freedom. But forget (more like ignore) there's responsibility that comes with it. Responsibility to their neighbor and the community.
