  1. Well A. To be fair without the conservancy we would've reached this point a long time ago. B. It may not have been their decision entirely. It could've been creditors. It could have had court orders. It could've have been the dock saying "idc who owns it I want her out" They might have sold to them because.......that's who could meet the criteria for sure. If the lower bidding guys didn't have a place to put her. And funding In place for a move. And well known support from a local or state government.........were they really a viable option? Maybe not in the eyes of the court. There's alot of stuff behind the scenes we'll learn with time. But I feel like it wasn't them soley on that. I do blame them for things like lack of paint and public access and updates. But for years the managed to drum up 80 grand a month for fees so they had some kind of donor base.

  3. I mean.......yeah that's why Oakland lost their sports teams. But at the same time New Orleans rebuilt the superdome after Katrina though you could argue that wasnt the highest priority at that point Sometimes culture and identity can do just as much good as practical help for the population. And preserving America's flagship would've definitely fallen in that category.
