  1. There is a little docu on this on youtube somewhere. Main reason is that it's simply cheaper to have a large container ship push these boats to the other side of the Atlantic ocean than for them to rake up depreciation, engine hours and fuel on their own. Compare it to a hypercar being transported across the country; Sure it could probably do it on it's own but the depreciation from all the millage it racked up alone is already going to cost 10 times the price of the transport.
