  1. I used to work at a small investment bank in the Netherlands and we had a special desk for lottery winners. From what I understood of the coworkers who were in direct contact with the lottery winners, for most of them the effects of the lottery on their life happiness was neutral after the initial high of winning the lottery had passed. Money truly isn't the instant ticket to happiness most people think it is. Also, if you can hide the winnings from your friends and family you should. Apparently friends and family members demanding money is a really common problem.
