Don't be too sure about it though. I was once caught doing 160 on an empty road. Only one car was driving behind me and judging by his yellow lights I assumed it was just a random old car... Once I entered the city limits I found out it was a (older model) marked police vehicle...

@dillonh321 When it's dark out, you cannot really distinguish that much between the headlights of vehicles.

@lookoutyourwindow9995 I live in Europe, so we have different cars. The police car was a Volvo V70, an older model car since most police cars are Audi A6. I am usually also more careful around unmarked Volvo V70's since I know they are popular as unmarked police cars. However, I recently got stopped by an unmarked Tesla model S, which I did not expect unfortunately.

@tati-anaroseee4316 I just googled it, and from what I can find, it's the only Model S Police car in the Netherlands! Just my luck I guess XD

As someone who has always been a fan of the Pheaton and is seriously considering a first generation continental: you mean this as a joke for how complex this looks, or are there serious problems that can destroy the engine? Cause so far, all the information I have found point to this engine being close to bulletproof.

I wonder why they never brought the SS to Europe, with a name like that, I'm sure it must have sold well in Germany!

I can also see the lines of a Jaguar X type in it, which was also based of a Mondeo (since Ford owned Jaguar back then).

That Quattroporte costs more than the cheapest Ghibli in my country. wtf.

It's also good for the availability of parts in the future. Nobody is going to keep making parts for an independent sports car manufacturer that went out of business 20 years ago. But if those parts are shared with existing mass production models, there is a chance these parts will remain to be available.

I was recently stopped by an unmarked white Tesla Model S while doing 140 on the highway. I did not expect that.

In my country there is a rule that you can drive a 15 year old vehicle while only paying 20% on the car's present day value in annual taxes, making the ownership of a 15+ year old luxury car something I am seriously considering. Many of the cars mentioned here have crossed my table of options but I am currently leaning towards an early 2000's Jaguar XJ (generally available for 10-15K for a nice one) or if my budget will allow it; a first generation Bentley Continental GT (starting at 35K up to 50K for a nice model).

Doug Demuro has a video on it.

If I can bring in a counter argument; the DB11 is really just an old generation Mercedes SLS fitted in a nicer jacket. If you buy an AMG GT, you still get a better, more modern car for less money.

I never get the deal with such comparisons. Yes, they are the same price, but why not throw a 35K boat or motorbike in the ring while you are at it? It's just two completely different products that serve different audiences. Also, lets not forget that with the upkeep of that Bentley, anybody considering a 35K Prius can probably not afford the running costs of a Bentley of equal value.

In the Netherlands, they will bring a large container filled with water to the crash site, lift up the burning car and put it in the container. Considering a car that's been on fire is already a 100% write off, it doesn't matter that you also drown it.
