  1. Speaking as a European, I would say the SUV hasn't become as popular here because it's humongous size makes it unfit for European roads. It won't fit in small parkingspots and it's a huge inconvenience to navigate it trough narrow streets in historic city centers.

  2. A main issue is that modern safety standards make it next to impossible to create cars with these kind of designs that would still pass pedestrian safety standards.
