@theatlantafisherman6913 yeah, but if that happens here in the Netherlands, it means that any liability for damages done, or compensation due falls on the police department as a whole. I find it odd that this is not the case in the USA?

@theatlantafisherman6913 How does this work in the United States, because here in the Netherlands any worker also has qualified immunity so that they are not personally liable for work related mistakes (unless what they did was not remotely related to their work). However, this is because the responsibility for the workers error lies with the employer (being the police department in this case). But I feel like in the United States qualified immunity just means "cannot sue".
