  1. I see two major risk factor for car enthousiasts in the future; emission laws and maintainability. I fear emission laws will slowly kill off the gas car in the future and that will also become the case for classic cars. Even if they are not outright banned, what if the infrastructure like gasstations disappears? Further more, especially for more modern cars; they are becoming increasingly complex with more components. Especially with a lot of electronic components and software that might get outdated or lack support in the future. Hoovies Garage has given some attention to this topic already; many 5-10 year old luxury cars today are already becoming too expensive or unpractical to maintain today. So I doubt if in 2040, one of us would even be able to own an old Tesla Model S or Porsche Taycan as a hobby car.
