  6. It goes to the House of Representatives, except each state's group of representatives only gets one vote. It's a mess. We did it once, in 1824.

  10. I think a lot of them just don't like Biden and do like the last name Kennedy. RFK's favorability with Democrats is abysmal. The more people find out about him, the more right leaning his coalition is going to get.

  13. Apparently America wanted these candidates. They could have picked Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Dean Phillips, Marianne Williamson, etc. They didn't. They picked Biden and Trump. So I don't know why everyone's complaining about it.

  14. Except when it maybe doesn't. In the 2022 Alaska House special election, Nick Begich would have beaten Mary Peltola and Sarah Palin in individual head to head matchups. He got 28% of the first place votes and was the second choice for most of the other voters. But because Peltola and Palin got more first place votes, he didn't make it to the final round. Which leads to the question of who the best candidate actually is. Is it the one who excites the most people? Or is it the one that most people find to be acceptable? It's hard to say. My personal choice would be a pairwise election. Biden v. Trump Biden v. Kennedy Trump v. Kennedy Someone is likely to win both of their head to head matchups. That person should be our President. All of that being said, first past the post is terrible, the electoral college is absurd, and ranked choice would absolutely be an improvement.

  15.  @tomfalvey7018  I'm not. Timothy Mellon donated $15 million to MAGA Inc., more than any other person or organization. I'm not saying he's puppeting Trump or anything. I'm just saying it's telling that the biggest RFK donor is also the biggest Trump donor.
