He should not be difficult to beat in 2024.

  7. Haven't we been? He's a malignant narcissist whose speeches often turn into semi-coherent rambling. That's been the theme of progressive channels for the last 8 years. A plurality of Americans still prefer that over a pre-dementia Joe Biden. We can't afford to try to eke out a win with a subpar candidate. We need to put forward the best candidate we've got.

  12. It's not automatic, but I like our chances better with Harris or whoever the Dems would end up nominating. Biden was already unpopular, and now he's unpopular and noticeably impaired.

  13.  @ito_tofu5324  Kamala Harris would also have an administration. Don't get me wrong - if we are unfortunate enough to get Biden v. Trump, I'll vote for Biden. But I see the polling. Biden looks really unlikely to win, and his condition is only getting worse. If this election is really as important as the Dems say it is, then we need to put forward the best candidate we've got.

  14. ​ @BostonBrian  There is an alternative. The alternative is for Biden to drop out because he's clearly going to lose the election, and let someone else run. The fact that he insists on being the nominee with terrible polling and worsening dementia is incredibly selfish.

  16. The party will fall in behind anyone. The question is, who will swing voters get behind? Given that the easiest path to 270 electoral votes is through the Midwest, I think it should be Buttigieg, Whitmer, or Shapiro. Harris is fine if they really want to keep Biden's campaign funds.

  18. I think he's allowed to finish the current term. And if he drops out of the 2024 race, the VP can use his campaign funds since she was part of his ticket. I've heard that if someone else is the nominee, Biden's campaign funds can be transferred to a super PAC, which is an organization that can do political advertising as long as it doesn't communicate with anyone's campaign team. So that money wouldn't completely go to waste.

  20. Garden variety issues are fine. I'll gladly put Kamala's awkwardness or Buttigieg's transportation secretary record against all of Trump's issues. Just give us a candidate that isn't slipping into dementia. It shouldn't be this hard.

  23. I have no interest in playing a game of "my cognitively impaired candidate is better than your cognitively impaired candidate". Trump sucks in a myriad of ways. That's why we need a quality candidate to run against him.
