I would guess he's not the worst, but someone like a Ted Cruz or a John Kasich probably would've done better than Trump. He underperformed compared to Republican House candidates, and there's no way that was because of how good Hillary was. He has such an over the top persona that we give him this air of untouchability, but statistically speaking, he's a bad candidate.

@jenvicinity9143 He reduced the annual deficit, not the total debt. That should also be taken with a giant grain of salt as Trump's final budget was absurdly high. I'd be shocked if Biden didn't reduce it. Deficit by Fiscal Year: 2019 - $0.98 trillion 2020 - $3.13 trillion 2021 - $2.78 trillion (3½ months of this, as well as the budget planning, took place under Trump) 2022 - $1.38 trillion The $1.7 trillion you mentioned was probably referring to the difference between the 2020 deficit and the 2022 deficit. A valid accomplishment but it really just took us back to the previous pattern of large deficits.
