@DIYTFY How many of those deaths are confirmed to be from the vaccine? Anyone can report anything to VAERS; it doesn't mean anything until the CDC confirms it.

@DIYTFY I blame Trump for constantly undermining the lockdowns, masks, and the severity of COVID. Washington State has about the same density as the whole US and its population is around that of an average state. They've had half the deaths per capita that the country as a whole has. Would COVID have become politicized under a President Pence? I honestly don't think so. So you could make the argument that Trump is responsible for 300,000 deaths. At best, I'd attribute 100,000 to Trump, 100,000 to Fox News, and 100,000 to the anti-mask governors.

@oliverlaw02 What do you make of the fact that there were 500,000 more total deaths in the US in 2020 than in 2019?
1
What exactly do you suggest? We've tried reasoning with them, we've tried mockery. Nothing's going to convince them except learning from their own mistakes, and sometimes they don't even do that.
1
Agreed. At the same time, I highly recommend getting vaccinated for COVID.
1
Maybe? The vaccine trains your body to attack the spike protein, which has so far been universal across COVID variants. I don't know if the immune response to actual COVID is universal in the same way.

At the same time, he is not gonna like the long term effects of COVID.
1
Because we don't want to let a technicality allow millions of people to die every year from something that's largely preventable. The risks of Covid outweigh the risks of the vaccines.
1
It's a vaccine, not a magical barrier. Yes, Covid still gets into your body. Your immune system is just more prepared to fight it, so your symptoms are much less severe.

He needed a breathing tube. The immune system didn't work. Modern medicine worked.

I know the vaccine trains your immune system on the spike protein that has so far been universal across all Covid variants. I don't know if natural immunity is that universal. Either way, I would say it's preferable to get that immunity without risking lung damage from Covid. And death is painful for the person's family and friends, especially when their death was likely preventable. It's the same logic behind not wanting people to commit suicide. Death is bad. I like when people are alive.

@hatemadness If you want to be part of the control group, go for it. I'm stickin' with Team Vaccine.
1
@luvwisdom2 Way more people have died from Covid. There's no logical reason to worry about the extremely rare long term effects of the vaccines, but dismiss the fairly common long term effects of Covid. At that point, it's just political.

It pretty much is selfishness and stupidity. I'm glad they're barely even trying to hide it anymore.
