No, you don't understand, Rittenhouse is a conservative, so he's automatically good. You gotta love the ever-shifting logic of Republicans.

Yep. Right wing hypocrisy: the gift that keeps on giving.

Tried to grab his gun? Of course they did, he had just killed someone with it. Is the "good guy with a gun" not a thing anymore? Based on previous conservative rhetoric, the people that charged him were heroes.

He just seems super nervous. I would be too if I knew I murdered two people and my lawyer told me to act like it was self-defense.
2
You don't say. That doesn't change the fact that Rittenhouse murdered two people.

I'm not going to make a judgement on the first shooting, the video I saw was very unclear. But after that, you gotta put the gun down and call the police, or at the very least leave with the gun in a non-threatening position. If you walk down the street with the gun, ready to shoot, like Rittenhouse did, you're an active shooter. People have the right to try to disarm you. He's absolutely guilty of the second murder, and assaulting the pistol guy.

If you shoot someone and then start walking down the street holding your gun, you're an active shooter. The proverbial "good guy with a gun" is going to try to disarm you. You people used to support that, but I guess the rules change when the shooter is on your side. Interesting.

@xenoblad This. I don't claim to know anything about the first shooting. But Skateboard Guy and Pistol Guy were absolutely justified in doing what they did. If you shoot someone and then continue to walk around with the gun, you're a threat.

Yep. Welcome to the channel.
1
That's called "trying to stop an active shooter".
1
Were Skateboard Guy and Pistol Guy not justified in trying to disarm a person who had just killed a man and was walking down the street ready to fire his weapon again? By your logic, a mass shooter could kill in self-defense if anyone tried to stop them. What happened to the whole "good guy with a gun" narrative?
1
If the gun wielder just killed someone, do people not have the right to try to disarm them? Are you suggesting we have to let mass shooters kill as many people as they want because attacking them would be too aggressive?
1
By that same logic, aren't Skateboard Guy and Pistol Guy allowed to try to stop someone who just killed a man, and is still walking around with his gun ready to shoot? I don't know enough about the first shooting to place blame, but after that, Rittenhouse was an active threat. The other two guys were justified in trying to disarm him.
1
He had his hands on the rifle ready to shoot, walking down the street after killing a man. Is it wrong for people to try to disarm him so he doesn't kill more people? What happened to the concept of "good guys with guns" stopping "bad guys with guns"? Does that not apply when the shooter is aligned with you politically?
1
@ericaugust1501 Is it not murder if a fool kills a fool? I don't think we should be setting a precedent that if someone shoots a person, the only thing you're allowed to do is hope they don't shoot more people.
1
The guy tried to grab the active shooter's gun? Yeah, I would hope so! Isn't the pistol guy the epitome of the "good guy with a gun" conservatives love to talk about? Are we just supposed to let active shooters kill to their hearts' content?
