@dave8204 finally someone who gets it, your safety is more important than being "right".
Several times people do something stupid or wrong , and if I can avoid their mistakes, I just do it. It takes 2 wrongs to make a fuck up, basic defensive driving, if you made a mistake and the other pays attention, it can be avoided. if the other make a mistake and you paid attention, it can also be avoided , but if both are fools, you definitively get a crash, unless there wasn't any time left, and there was plenty of time.
I got into a crash once, I was in the wrong and passed a stop signal, it was dark and I was tired, it was just a fender bender, but I apologized immediately, I didn't even knew what I have done at first. And I paid the fix on his car.
The amount of times I avoided crashing because of other people mistakes, I don't even get mad. What gets me a bit angry is people driving slower than the minimum or diving slow in a fast lane, but not enough to cause an accident, I usually just wait and pass them when its safe. Its not even that I need to drive at speed, its just that some people are bad drivers and stop the traffic flow, that's stressful.
